Help for you

If you are struggling with a drug or alcohol problem, or if you feel your use of a substance is in danger of getting out of control, or even if you're just a little bit worried - this part of the site can give you information on where you can find support.

There are several self-help tools around, which can help you to assess your use of a substance, identify the benefits of cutting down or stopping, and track your progress so you can see how well you've done.

This section also has information on peer support or mutual aid groups in the Bolton area, and if you decide to seek professional help, the 'Getting Help' page can help you find out which of the drug or alcohol services in Bolton is best suited to help you. The 'Our Services' section of the website can give you more information about each service.

You can also find information about being on benefits if you have an alcohol or drug issue.

The 'Information about substances' section can give you details of the effects and risks of various drugs, and how to minimise those risks. The 'Keeping Safe section has more information on harm minimisation.

And remember: it's never too late - or too early - to seek help.
