Keeping Safe

If you, or someone you care about, is misusing alcohol and/or drugs, obviously the best possible advice would be to reduce your intake or stop altogether.

However, we know that not everyone feels able or ready to stop right now. Whatever the situation, there are always things you can do to reduce the risks to physical and mental health, social impact and effects on general wellbeing that come with drug use. We call this Harm Reduction.

Remember

In the event of an emergency, including if you think someone may have overdosed, CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY, and stay with the person until the ambulance arrives. The page 'Overdose Aid' in this section has more information about what to do in the event of an overdose.
